At Jason & Thu Foundation (JTSF), we believe that no one should be left to suffer in silence, especially during life-threatening situations.

Why Relief Aid Is Essential

Uganda, like many developing nations, faces frequent challenges such as floods, droughts, epidemics, and internal displacement. These crises often hit the poorest families the hardest, leaving them without shelter, food, clothing, or medical support.

Our Relief Response

Through our Relief Aid Program, JTSF provides timely and life-saving assistance to families in crisis. Our interventions include:

• Food Distribution: Supplying essentials like maize flour, beans, rice, and cooking oil to families facing hunger.
• Emergency Shelter Kits: Distributing tarpaulins, blankets, and mosquito nets to those affected by floods or displacement.
• Clothing & Sanitation Packs: Providing clothes, hygiene kits, and sanitary towels to vulnerable children, women, and the elderly.
• Medical Aid: Supporting health camps and providing access to basic medication and first aid where healthcare is inaccessible.
• Counseling & Trauma Support: Offering psychological first aid, especially to children affected by trauma, violence, or displacement.

Stories from the Field

During the 2023 floods in parts of Eastern Uganda, JTSF responded rapidly by delivering food, clothing, and shelter items to over 150 displaced families. Many mothers cried tears of relief upon receiving supplies for their children. One said, “We had nothing left. You have given us hope to begin again.”

In another instance, during the COVID-19 lockdown, JTSF distributed food packages to orphaned households and young mothers who had lost income. We also provided soap and face masks to help keep the virus at bay.

Beyond the Emergency

JTSF doesn’t stop at just meeting immediate needs. We also help families recover and rebuild. After crisis relief, we link affected individuals to long-term support such as education sponsorship, skills training, and counseling to foster stability and resilience.
