Who We Are

Jason and Thurman Support Foundation (JTSF) is a registered non-profit organization founded by Mr. Senkusu Benon. Initially launched as a Community-Based Organization (CBO), JTSF is now officially registered with the Uganda National NGO Bureau. We are driven by the desire to empower marginalized and vulnerable communities across Uganda through sustainable, inclusive, and compassionate programs.

Our Objectives

  1. To support the education of vulnerable and underprivileged children in Uganda.
  2. To promote the health and well being of children , families and communities.
  3. To advance environmental protection approaches in communities for sustainable development.
  4. To uphold the rights of children to ensure their safety in society.
  5. To advocate for gender and disability inclusion in development programs.
  6. To promote learning exchange programs between Uganda and other countries.

Founder’s Story

Mr. Senkusu Benon, a professional teacher and social worker, founded JTSF inspired by his own life journey. Orphaned at age 11, he was supported through charity, first by Rev. Father Phill Leos of Mirembe Maria in Mubende, and later by Mr. Semanda Erisha who helped him complete secondary school.
He trained as a teacher through a government scholarship and later received international support from the Boy Scouts of America, which allowed him to live in the USA for 10 years. There, his friends Arthur Emission and Todd Priestly supported him in founding Cleveland Hill Primary School in Uganda in 2002 — an act that laid the foundation for JTSF.
His personal story is a testament to the power of compassion, education, and second chances.

Why the Name “Jason and Thurman”?

Inspired by the founder’s lifelong mentors and supporters, the name reflects the spirit of friendship, solidarity, and international cooperation that has shaped the foundation’s identity and mission.
